As you gently glide from your first amazing night’s sleep, you awaken to the sounds of birds and monkeys celebrating a new morning in the giant Guanacaste tree shading your casita.

As a guest at this special, one-of-a-kind custom retreat, you'll experience retreat activities like none other. From the arrival ceremony, to the closing circle on the final night, everything is different.
For Seven days and nights, you'll be immersed in deep learning, growing and playing together. You won't miss meeting rooms and conference tables, as we work in circle, or on the beach, or in our converted airplane hanger, you'll be lost in experiential learning activities, emotional and challenging bonding work, and deep exploration of your self, your fears, your beliefs, your biases and subconscious saboteurs. Our activities are designed to make it easy to glide through what sounds like difficult work, and we're planning plenty of integration time, so you'll be able to absorb and connect the dots so you can bring your new inspirations and skills home to replicate with your team. Yoga classes, breathwork, sound healing, and magical surprises designed to take you deeper than ever before. You’ll fall more in love with your team as well as yourself as you slay some saboteurs and discover your own new growth edge or stretch area. The Venue
Welcome to a special place to expand your mind, nurture your body, and soothe your soul. The perfect place to cultivate the magic for your business and life.
Your room is as individual as your own thumbprint. Every special and unique part of you feels invited and welcomed as the unique shapes, colors, textures, scents and sounds of Con Smania.
Con Smania sleeps up to 24 guests, but we are limiting this retreat to just your team of 14 to relax completely in unique splendor. Your team wll have exclusive use of the entire retreat center. Spread throughout lush tropical gardens, each unique casita with a private bath, sleeps 2-4 guests. Some casitas have a single sleeping area with two XL twin beds and others have multiple sleeping areas with one or two beds in each area. Very limited single rooms available. Shared casitas tend to provide deeper retreat experiences, especially for those who usually like to be alone.

Costa Rica is soulful, alive, vibrant and real, just like you! We love the Pura Vida attitude here and we love our jungle, river, and our completely undeveloped beach, Playa Buena Vista. All easily found by our shuttle drivers, and perfectly hidden from traffic, tourists, and distractions.
Con Smania (means with passion that comes out of aggitation) Retreat Center is located on the west coast in the Nicoya peninsula of Costa Rica. It is one of 5 Blue Zones in the world where more people live past 100 years, and for good reason. Just a ten-minute stroll to the Pacific Ocean, nestled in the shade of giant Guanacaste trees filled with monkeys. Your unique and artistically created oasis awaits. |
Most beds are XL twins and are outfitted with new luxury mattresses and linens. All rooms are air conditioned and offer ceiling fans, safe drinking water, and a mini-frig. Fussy about pillows? we have a vast pillow library; bamboo, copper, memory foam - whatever your pillow fantasy is, just ask!
Wander the garden paths and delight in this feast for the senses. We won’t tell you exactly where to find all the places to rest and ponder life… we believe you will magically come upon them right when needed.

The name Con Smania means with passion and so does mealtime. Your senses come alive as you take in the brilliant colors, textures, tastes, and scents of simple and delightful homemade meals. Ingredients are farm to table, fresh and organic. Exotic fruits are grown on property and eggs come fresh from the farm next door.
You’ll bond with new friends as you explore consciously prepared meals inspired by the ingredients that make this one of the world’s five Blue Zones. |

Can't eat this or that? Dietary restrictions are celebrated here. The bountiful buffets are very vegetarian friendly, plus fish. Your culinary adventure includes traditional homemade Costa Rican food and surprises to delight the adventurous foodie.
We believe in honoring the land through connecting closer to source in all ways. Buffet style, we encourage you to take what you need knowing you can always return for more. |

We are curating a custom agenda and menu of activities that are proven to take leaders deeper than they've been before. By the end of this retreat, you will expand your self awareness, increase emotional intelligence, build emotional safety, bond with your peers, connect deeply with your self, your peers, nature and all all that is.
The group always comes first, not our agenda or slate of activities. This means we adjust and flow with the group to allow the best growth and benefit for each participant and the group as a whole.
We often have sunrise group experiences on the beach. We plan to have two yoga classes during the week, several experiential workshops that last from 1-3 hours, we'll have several cultural or ceremonial experiences in circle, perhaps a fire ceremony, or cacao ceremony, sound healing, or breathwork session. A half-day trip to nearby Samara or Nosara might be in order.
Additional services may be available on a limited basis, include massages and private Barrier Breakthrough Sessions with Mike, and private consultations with Sergio.
Sometimes our biggest breakthroughs happen on a beach walk, walks on the beach, or an endless variety of retreat activities for self exploration, connection, and personal growth, pool time or journaling time.

Michael J. Kline
I was drawn back to Costa Rica by my spiritual growth and healing journey. Answering the call to “be the Fire” as a teacher, healer, and human, I walked into the retreat center and instantly embraced the next step in my evolution and became an owner/member of the Con Smania Collective.
I am the 11th of 12 children born into poverty on our abusive, alcoholic father’s junkyard. After losing my mother at age 7 and being adopted by an emotionally abusive aunt and uncle, I spent the next forty years discovering that I am worthy of love and life.
I learned and practiced my leadership and business development skills as President of a regional franchise company with 58 locations and 175 employees. Later, as six-time successful entrepreneur, I felt successful at life’s “shoulds” but I wasn’t truly happy. All that changed as I grew into a passionate transformational trainer and facilitator of healing.
I attended my first Jack Canfield retreat to grow my business, and discovered it was long-forgotten personal blocks about my own sense of being enough, that was getting in the way. Jack facilitated a redo of the death of my mother, where I was told “don’t cry” and that I had to be a grownup now. My entire life changed when I learned that men can play and feel and express emotions.
I love my life as a transformational retreat leader, TEDx Speaker, and Senior Trainer at The RIM Institute. Certified in The Success Principles, RIM (Regenerating Images in Memory), Creative Problem Solving, The Circle Way, Barrett Values, and numerous other techniques, I teach trainers, coaches, and leaders in deep personal and professional growth work. My passion is creating safe and sacred spaces with love, connection, and always, a questionable amount of humor. I can’t wait to introduce you to the work that healed my heart and the the retreat center that captured it.

Sergio W. Sedas, PHD
Dr. Sergio Sedas is a known catalyst with 30 years of experience helping corporate leaders transform their most critical problem into breakthrough results, productivity & growth without resistance or burnout. His leadership frameworks are taught at the EGADE Business School at Tec de Monterrey and used by organizations around the world.
Through his immersive advanced leadership systems and experiences, he has helped over 100,000 individuals, business leaders and entrepreneurs leave stress and overwhelm behind to boost operations, improve performance, rise to best supplier, generate loyalty, increase quality, impact their community, increase employee engagement, and generally crush it at work and in their lives.

Having faced great personal and organizational challenges of his own, he knows that typical corporate models are afraid of the deep personal work. Sergio is committed to going deeper with leaders to help develop the profound shifts and remove the blocks to great personal and business success.

COlleen SOrensen
As a teacher in a university classroom since 2000, my greatest passion is to create a welcoming, engaging, and fun space to learn, grow, and transform in. In 2016, my classroom received a massive upgrade when I discovered Jack Canfield. He introduced me to his unique experiential style of learning, which I immediately implemented and have been astounded by the outcomes it produces. Additionally, I have spent several years steeped in learning powerful emotionally processing skills that permit me to hold a safe space for students to process their emotions in a way that allows them to feel lighter, freer, letting go of old stories that no longer serve a productive purpose.
Outside of teaching, presenting, or developing meaningful curriculum, you can find me at home in Salem, UT with my two working-class dogs who always beg for a ball to chase, flying across the USA to visit my 4 grand babies in North Carolina, meeting my traveling husband of over 30 years somewhere for a weekend together, or having lunch out as I much prefer others’ cooking.

Is there transportation from the airport to the retreat venue? Yes, included. You will receive a questionnaire for your flight information, and we will arrange shuttles from the airport to the retreat center with your classmates.
Can you accommodate dietary restrictions? Absolutely, all special diets are welcome and celebrated here.
Is it safe to travel to Costa Rica? Absolutely. Costa Rica is the safest and lowest crime area of Central America. As a stable democracy, Costa Rica abolished its military in 1946, in favor of investing in free education and a public health care system. Crime in Playa Buena Vista is not even on the radar. At our own beach, we will likely not see anyone else even there. When traveling to town or public beaches, like any tourist area, it is recommended not to wear expensive jewelry or carry valuables, and never leave valuables in a car even if locked.
What is the weather like? Typical high is 83 F and lows of 73. During the green season, we expect a lovely rainfall most afternoons and if we're lucky, an amazing storm/nature show.
What do I pack? Casual and comfortable, with shorts, t-shirts and flip-flops being the norm. Most participants abandon any concerns about hair and makeup after the first day. Even going into town is very casual. If you plan to take advantage of a photoshoot, bring what you need to prepare for that. Irons and hair dryers are available on site, but rarely used.

Due to the special nature of this event, and that this is a special rate negotiated for this group, this is non-refundable and is based on 14 participants. Unused portions of activities, or unused beds are non refundable.
Trip cancellation insurance is always recommended whenever making travel plans. Travel insurance includes health insurance while out of the country, for this reason, we insist you have travel insurance. Two popular providers include Travel Guard Insurance and World Nomads where you can choose from several policy options. |
